About
A bathroom remodeler that plans first
My Bathroom Remodeling Los Angeles designs and rebuilds bathrooms for houses, condos and ADUs across the city. This page explains how we work, and what you can expect from us before, during and after a remodel.
What we believe about bathrooms
A good bathroom looks calm and simple, but that result depends on decisions made early. Where does the drain go? What sits behind the tile? How does steam leave the room? Where will the towel actually hang? Those are questions to settle on paper, well before anyone starts demolition.
We like restrained materials used well. Honed stone, porcelain with a real texture, handmade tile where it earns its place, wood that is sealed properly, light placed where you need it. Premium doesn’t have to mean ornate. Usually it means that every detail was thought through.
We also think a remodel should suit the building it’s in. A Spanish Revival bath in Los Feliz, a condo bath in a West Hollywood mid-rise and a new ADU in a Burbank backyard each call for a different approach, and we don’t force one style onto all of them.
How we work
Commitments you can hold us to
A written scope before work starts
Your estimate describes the work line by line. Anything not yet selected is shown as a clearly labeled allowance, so the two of us read the same number the same way.
Decisions made before demolition
Tile, fixtures, glass, vanity and lighting are chosen and, where lead times matter, ordered before the old bathroom comes out. Ordering too late is one of the most common reasons remodels stall.
Straight answers about the unknowns
Older walls and floors hide things. We tell you in advance what’s likely in your type of building. When something unexpected turns up, you hear about it with options and costs before we go on.
Respect for the building
We protect floors and common areas, follow HOA rules on hours and elevators, and keep neighbors informed where the building expects it. A condo remodel should never cause you trouble with the association.
What we take on
Bathrooms are our focus. That covers complete renovations, shower rebuilds, tub-to-shower conversions, primary suites, condo bathrooms, ADU bathrooms and bathrooms designed for aging in place.
We’re happy to work from an architect’s or interior designer’s drawings, and to coordinate with them through the build. If you don’t have a designer, we plan the layout and help you with selections as part of the project.
If your project would be better served by a different kind of contractor, such as a plumber for a single leak or a handyman for a fixture swap, we’ll say so at the consultation.

Questions worth asking any remodeler
Whether or not you work with us, these questions help you compare quotes fairly.
- Is the contractor’s license current and appropriate for the work? You can check any California contractor’s license on the Contractors State License Board website.
- What waterproofing system goes behind the shower tile, and is it tested before tile goes on?
- Which items are fixed prices and which are allowances, and what happens if a selection exceeds its allowance?
- Who applies for permits where they’re required, and how are inspections scheduled?
- For condos: who handles the HOA application, insurance certificates and building logistics?
- How are changes during the project priced and approved?
For a sense of how pricing is put together, read how our estimates work. Answers to more general questions are on the FAQ page.
